RCCG KKT: -Children’s Ministry.

children

Introduction

Children are a blessing from the Lord, with this blessing also comes responsibility. As stewards of God's children, parents are responsible for helping children grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. At the King of Kings Tabernacle we have a responsibility toward children too. We provide an environment in which children are safe, are taught at an age-appropriate level, and are encouraged to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ. We minister to the spiritual needs of our children through a children's ministry program.

Our Aims and Objectives

At RCCG-KKT we have an opportunity to expose our children to the Word of God at an early age. Proverbs 22:6

· To teach the children the nature of Jesus Christ, for example they must be able to take instructions.

· To create an atmosphere of fun whilst they learn about God and His love.

· To install spiritual discipline; the existence of the knowledge of God, respect for the parents, elderly, and the human race.

· To inspire them to read and come to know the Bible.

· To equip them with the knowledge they need in order to live successful Godly lives by the word of God.

· To evangelise children in their locality so that they will be able to invest into the future of the Church, Community and Country as a whole.

· To know and accept Jesus Christ as their personal saviour

· To raise up and equip children to know and appreciate their identity in Christ.

· To motivate children to recognise God’s purpose for their lives and to help them achieve it.

· To develop future leaders.

· To make disciples of them and teach them how to win souls for Christ.

· To provide opportunities for participating in true Christian fellowship.

· To teach them how to worship and praise God thereby building their spiritual, social and emotional life.

Our Vision

1. Joining hands with families to reach and teach children that loving Jesus is fun. Supporting them in such a way that they have the opportunity to be disciples and followers of Christ. We realise that every child needs love, acceptance and recognition. For some children the Children’s Ministry might be the only place where these feelings can be experienced.

In addition to our primary aim, we are also working towards 3 key objectives:

1.    BELONGING

We ensure that the children feel welcome and that they experience God's love for them (especially new children). We want them to belong.

2.    BELIEVING

We ensure that the children have an encounter with the Lord, experience intimacy with Him and develop a practical relationship with Him. We want them to believe.

3.     BEHAVING

We ensure that the children get to know God's word thoroughly. Then they will serve and obey Him for the rest of their lives. We want them to behave in such a way that everybody can see that they belong to Jesus Christ.

At KKT Children’s Ministry we make sure that every child:

·        Has the opportunity to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour.

·        Gains Bible knowledge:

·        Knows the Word.

·        Believes the Word.

·        Does the Word.

·        Experiences a Spirit filled life:

·        Has the opportunity to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

·        Learns to live a Spirit filled life.

·        Grows spiritually.

Testimony

One fateful afternoon, I was at home doing my chores when my body started to weaken. I thought it would only last for a few seconds. When I realised that it was serious, I eased myself to the floor as I was not able to move. I was acutely ill in hospital and doctors did not think that I would pull through. I was admitted into the intensive care of the hospital. I could not talk or even move at all. My left leg was dead! Really! I became unconscious and was unaware of my surroundings. Prior to my admission, I had collapsed at home and was rushed by ambulance to the hospital. However, people later told me that all I kept saying in my unconscious state was 'Jesus is lord'!!!
